Why aren't all commercial flights powered by sustainable fuel?

IT HAS been ten years since Virgin Atlantic flew a Boeing 747 partly powered by biofuel between London and Amsterdam. It may have been something of a PR stunt, but the airline’s boss, Sir Richard Branson, called it a “vital breakthrough”.
